Q

Updated version of chiropractic

A

Chiropractic deals primarily with a vitalistic Philosophy of health that is concerned with the Science and Art of analyzing the structure of the body, primarily the spinal column, and its effect that it has on the function of the body, primarily the nervous system, and their combined effect on the physiological and biological components of the human body.

Q

Disease (Vitalistic)

A
  • Everything can be explained by physics and chemistry alone. Other factors influence us. - Basic Philosophy of chiropractic.
  • Body is not just a matter, some energy or force exit
  • life is expression of energy through living matter
  • the intelligence for health comes from within
  • disease (dis-ease) is a state of the body
  • focus on wellness and what is means to be healthy

Q

Disease is a condition of the body. (Vitalism/Atomism)

A
  • everything can be explained by laws of physics and chemistry
  • basic philosophic construct of medicine (Newtonian base: calculus, physics, Chem)
  • body is atoms that can be changed. Rearranged for health by the use of chemistry (drugs), surgery, radiation, genetic engineering, inoculation, and vaccination
  • life is the result of physical matter expressing itself
  • the goal is produce “disease free” world (not necessarily health)
  • Focus on sickness care
  • disease is a condition of the body
  • health comes from the outside

List 4 stages of adaptation syndrome.

A
  1. STRESSOR ( alarm reaction) (physical, chemical or mental)
  2. PHYSIOLOGICAL ADAPTATION (resistance)
  3. EXHAUSTION (fatigue) - when the body can no longer adapt

Q

Stress

A

is a state manifested by specific syndrome which consists of all the non specifically included changes within a biologic systems

is the abstraction that has no independent existence. We can only see combination of the stressor and a specific action on the agent. Stress is the resultant of a stressor

17
Q

Stresses causes changes in

A

structural and chemical composition of the body.

Signs of damage and manifestations of body adaptation

18
Q

GAS

A

nonspecific response of the body to any demand. It is recognized due to a neurological and hormonal responses with a direct effect on stress.

19
Q

stressors

A

is a nonspecific response of the body to demand recognized by evidence of adrenal stimulation, atrophy of lymph organs, ulcers and loss of body weight due to hormonal and neurological response where there is a response. It is an internal response in inhibiting unnecessary or extensive defense.

physical-chemical-mental
