Q

Key verse for Scriptural Cornerstone

A

I Peter 3:15 - “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”

20
Q

Peter’s defense of Chrjst hope

A

Defend yourself by giving reasons.

All Christians are apologists.

21
Q

What are the misconceptions of Christianity?

A

Blind faith without thought. - Christians have accepted their faith not on blind faith but intelligent faith.
Be sincere, regardless of belief. - the Christian faith is objective; therefore it must have an object.
Bible is a myth. - Virgin birth; resurrection; Ascension.

22
Q

World views in collision

A

Post-modernism - deconstructionism, stress relativity of all meaning and truth, no absolute truth, only truth that is relevant to each individual.

Eastern mysticism - denies a dualistic world. Evidence for ones faith is unimportant, this leads to avoiding information that leads to the knowledge of God.

Scientific - powerhouse opposition to religious beliefs for the past 200+ years. Claims of truth have to me tested by scientific method. Religious claims are suspected because they represent and alternative view.
