A

What events led to the massacre was the killing of Elijah P. Lovejoy and the Sack of Lawrence.
Brown, his 2 sons, his son in law, and a few other men pretended to be guards as they went to houses asking if they were of anti-slavery and if not then he killed them.
It revealed that Brown was targeting only pro-slavery believers.

A

They sacrificed more for change then others, they were unique because they went against the status quo especially fighting for women’s rights and slavery to be abolished. Others either ignored them or tried to shut them down by creating mobs.
