Core, Semi-periphery, Periphery
The high income nations in the world economy.
-Manufacturing based of the planet where resources funnel in to become the technology and wealth enjoyed by the western world today.
Core
Dominant capitalist country that exploit peripheral countries for labor and raw materials
Core
-middle-income countries, such as India and Brazil, considered it, due to their closer ties to the global economic core
Semi-periphery
They share characteristics of both core and periphery
Semi-periphery
Low-income countries, whose natural resources or labor support wealthier countries, first as colonies and now by working for multi national companies under neocolonialism
Periphery
It represents the short term fluctuation of economy, while secular trends mean deeper long run tendencies, such as general economic growth or decline
Cyclical rhythms
It means a general controversy in the system; about short term vs long term trade
Contradiction
It occurs if a constellation of circumstances brings about the end of the system
Crisis
It stresses that world systems should be the basic unit of social analysis
