3
Q

What is the shared responsibility model?

A

Responsibilities are shared between the datacenter (physical security/power, cooling, network connectivity) and the consumer (access security/data and info stored in cloud)

Q

Shared responsibility model (3 points)

What will the consumer always be responsible for, regardless of cloud computing service?

A
  • The information and data stored in the cloud
  • Devices that are allowed to connect to your cloud (cell phones, computers, and so on)
  • The accounts and identities of the people, services, and devices within your organization

9
Q

Natural evolution from a corporate datacenter.

What is a private cloud?

A

**Cloud that’s used by a single entity.
**
Private cloud provides greater control for the company and its IT department. However, it also comes with greater cost and fewer of the benefits of a public cloud deployment.

A private cloud may be hosted from your on site datacenter. It may also be hosted in a dedicated datacenter offsite, potentially even by a third party that has dedicated that datacenter to your company.

Q

What is a public cloud?

A

A public cloud is built, controlled, and maintained by a third-party cloud provider.

With a public cloud, anyone that wants to purchase cloud services can access and use resources.

General public availability is difference with public & private clouds.

Q

What is a hybrid cloud?

A

Computing environment that uses both public and private clouds in an inter-connected environment.

A hybrid cloud environment can be used to allow a private cloud to surge for increased, temporary demand by deploying public cloud resources. Hybrid cloud can be used to provide an extra layer of security.

Q

Which cloud model provides the most flexibility?

A

**Hybrid Cloud
**
A hybrid cloud environment can be used to allow a private cloud to surge for increased, temporary demand by deploying public cloud resources. Hybrid cloud can be used to provide an extra layer of security. For example, users can flexibly choose which services to keep in public cloud and which to deploy to their private cloud infrastructure.

16
Q

What would a multi-cloud scenario involve?

A

Multiple public cloud providers

In a multi-cloud environment you deal with two (or more) public cloud providers and manage resources and security in both environments.

17
Q

What is Azure Arc

A

A set of technologies that helps manage your cloud environment.

Could be a public cloud solely on Azure, a private cloud in your datacenter, a hybrid configuration, or even a multi-cloud environment running on multiple cloud providers at once.

18
Q

When would Azure VMware Solution be used?

A

Migrate from private cloud to public or hybrid.

Seamlessly move VMware-based workloads from your datacenter to Azure.

19
Q

What are the two expense types to consider when comparing IT infrastructure models?

A
  1. Capital expenditure (CapEx)
  2. Operational expenditure (OpEx).
20
Q

What is CapEx?

Unit 6

A

One-time, up-front expenditure to purchase or secure tangible resources.

Building a datacenter or buying a company vehicle are examples of CapEx.

21
Q

What is OpEx?

A

Spending money on services or products over time.

Renting, leasing a vehicle, or signing up for cloud services are OpEx.

22
Q

What financial model does cloud computing operate on?

A

Consumption-based model (OpEx)- you only pay for the resources you use.

23
Q

3 benefits of using a pay-as-you-go pricing model for cloud computing:

A
  • Plan and manage your operating costs.
  • Run your infrastructure more efficiently.
  • Scale as your business needs change.
