A
  • Using tweezers
  • Put specimen stained with iodine (makes coloured and easier to see)
  • Mix water drop with iodine
  • Cover slip

How can you use a light microscope?

A
  • Use first the lowest powered objective lense
  • use the coarse adjustment knob to move just below objective lens
  • Look through eyepiece and turn until in focus
  • Adjust focus with fine knob until clear image is visible
  • Until a greater magnification and higher powered objective lens

How should you Draw your Observations?

A
  • Use pencil
  • Use at least half the space provided
  • Do not colour or shade
  • Make sure subcellular structures are proportional
  • Use a title and magnification
  • Label all important features with straight lines
