Microscopic world - Plant and Animal cell Propeties Flashcards
What does the endoplasmic reticulum do?
Transport station, it package proteins
What does the cell membrane do?
acts as a barrier between the cell and the environment
does an animal cell have a fixed shape?
no it can move around
does the cell membrane on the animal cell allow anything through?
yes it allows some things through. It does block some things eg virous
What does the nucleus do?
It contains the DNA.
What does the mitochondria do?
Turns the food into energy
What does the Ribosome do?
it creates proteins
What is the cytoplasm made of
Cytosol - a liquid that the organelles float around in
What does the cell wall do?
It provides a ridged structure. helps to keep it upright
What cell is the nucleus seen in
Both the, plant and Animal cells
Is the Mitochondria see in the plant cell?
Yes.
How many different parts are in the plant cell that are not in the animal cell

What do chloroplasts contain
Chlorophyl
What does the chloroplasts do?
Photosynthesis
What does the Vacuole do/contain?
Water, Minerals, waste
