Eyepiece
This is where you look through to view the specimen
Revolving Nosepiece
Rotates and allows you to change the objective lenses
Objective Lenses
Magnify the specimen. There are usually three lenses: low power, medium power, and high power
Stage
Supports the microscope slide and has an opening that allows light to pass through the slide.

Controls the amount of light that reaches the specimen
Light Source
Either an electric bulb or a mirror. Allows light to pass through the specimen.
Fine adjustment knob
Used to bring the image into a sharp focus after the coarse adjustment knob has been used
Base
This is used to hold the microscope together and is used to carry the microscope.
