Microscope with cells Flashcards
(30 cards)
Mitochondria
Provides energy to the ATP in the cell
Lysosome
They clean up the unwanted things inside of the cell
Chromosomes
Contains DNA found in the nucleus
Cell membrane
The outer cover of the cell and keeps unwanted things out
ER
Folds and package and prepare materials for transport
Golgi body
It is the delivery system in the cell
Ribosomes
Makes proteins for the cell
Chloroplast
Where photosynthesis is made to make the plant green
Vacuoles
It store food water and materials in it
Cell wall
Helps gives plants cell it shape
Cytoplasm
It takes up space in the cell houses organelles
Nucleus
It is the control center and it is the brain and controls the activities
Light Microscope
It uses light to enlarge an image that has one lens. It can have three by haves a compound microscope
Electron Microscope
Use a magnetic field to focus a beam of electrons through an object. There are two types of Electron microscope SEM and the TEM
Robert Hooke
He made the first microscope in 1600’s he found out about cells.
Anton van Leeuwenhoek
He proved the first microscope and it could magnify 270 times bigger.
Prokaryotic
It is a simple cellar or unicellular because it has only one cell.
Eukaryotic
It is a complex or multicellular has more than one cell
Organelles
which have specialized functions in the cells
Organism
Things that have all of the characteristics of live
Homeostasis
An organism ability to maintain steady internal conditions when outside conditions change
Cell
The smallest unit of life or many cell, all living things have structures that have specific functions.
Organization
Living things have specialized structures with specialized functions. Living things with more than one cell have a greater level of organization because groups of cells function together.
Growth and development
Living things grow by increasing cell sizes and/or increasing cell number. Multicellular organisms develop as cell develop specialized functions.
