nosepeice
revolving part that holds the objective lens and lets you change the magnification by rotating different powered objective lenses into your veiw.
ocular lens, eye piece
lens closest to the eye magnifies 10x on our microscope. The eyepiece has a pointer on it that rotates as the eyepiece is turned.
objective lens
lens closest to the objective magnifies the image of the objective being vewed.
low power objective lens
shortest objective les with a red ring on it this magnifies the object 4x.
medium power objective lens
middle length lens with a yellow ring o it, magnifies the image 10x.
high power objective
longest objective lens with a blue ring on it, magnifies the image 40x.
stage clips
two locked-on clips used for holding down slides.
stage
platform of the microscope holding the specimen or slide.
iris diaphram
control for the opening of light that passes through. Usually we open it we open it for high magnification and closes it down for low magnification.
focusing knobs
located on each side of the arm, you turn them to focus the image by moving the stage up or down.
