A

When a drop of water is placed on the slide then the specimen

  • to improve translucency
  • to flatten tge sample
  • to reduce refraction between different media

A
  • Add a water drop on the slide
  • place specimen in the water
  • add a cover slip so it touches the water’s edge
  • slowly lower the slip to reduce bubbles being trapped or foam
