A
When the climate in a small area is different from the general surroundings it is called a microclimate.

Can reduce wind speeds causing someone to be warmer eg walls , hedges and trees.

Darker areas absorb heat making it warmer but lighter areas reflect heat and it be cooler.

A
They break up the wind and can give off heat that has entered in the day.

The direction the place is facing. Facing the sun it will be warmer than the ones shadowed.
