16
Q

Premature Brake release

A

Release other Brake

17
Q

Line Twists

A

Thumbs down knuckles together, pull apart.
Bicycle kick. Do not unstow brakes until line twists are cleared. Maintain Altitude awareness. If unable to clear, Cutaway

18
Q

Streamer/Snivel

A

Pull rear risers (3-4 Sec). Make two attempts, if slider moves below cascade Perform CCC.
If unsuccessful, Cutaway

19
Q

Hung Slider

A

Above Cascade: pump rear risers, if slider remains above cascade, cutaway.
Below cascade: full flare (3-4 sec), perform CCC.

20
Q

Closed End Cell

A

Full Brakes (3-4 Sec), let up quickly. Repeat if cells don’t inflate. Perform CCC.

21
Q

Pilot Chute over Nose

A

Full Brakes, let up, attempt to flip pilot chute over nose. Perform CCC

22
Q

Tension Knots

A

Stop spin w/ opposite rear riser.
Snap affected line group, two attempts.
Perform CCC

23
Q

Broken Suspension Lines

A

Any “A” line, or two or more B, C, D, lines cutaway.

Only one, non “A” line, perform CCC.

24
Q

Rips/Tears

A

Compare rate of descent to fellow jumpers, if falling faster: cutaway.
If hole in bottom skin, perform CCC.
If hole in top skin, cutaway

25
Q

Broken Control Line

A

Steer w/ good toggle and opposite rear riser.
At safe altitude determine flare point with rear risers.
Flare and land with both rear risers only.

26
Q

Entering a Cloud

A

Fly at 50% brakes. Do not turn. Maintain Altitude Awareness.

27
Q

Side by Side

A

Ensure both canopies are not entangled, if unsure, assume they are.
Do not release brakes, if brakes released on one, unstow on the other.
If not entangled, L of, L, of L
If entangled keep canopies together, steer outer canopy.
Attempt to land into wind.
Do not flare, PLF

28
Q

Biplane

A

Ensure both canopies are not entangled, if unsure, assume they are. If pilot chute of front canopy is visible under rear canopy consider them entangled.
Do not release brakes, if brakes released on one, unstow on the other.
If not tangled, attempt to bump one canopy to the side into Biplane and L of, L, of L
If entangled keep canopies together, steer front canopy with rear risers.
Attempt to land into wind.
Do not flare, PLF

29
Q

Down Plane

A

Ensure both canopies are not entangled, if unsure, assume they are.
Make every effort to get both canopies together and keep them together.
If not entangled pull RED cutaway pillow.
Do not Flare, PLF

30
Q

Partially Deployed

A

Do not unstow Brakes.
If canopies inflate do not get entangled.
If both canopies inflate follow proper procedures
If reserve is in Free Bag, carefully gather suspension lines, firm grip on Free Bag, steer w/ one hand, at 15 FT drop Free Bag and flare with rear risers, PLF

31
Q

Actions to Avoid Canopy Collision

A

Steer with rear risers.
Always turn right. Unless left is better.
Avoid Body to Body Contact.
If contact Imminent, Spread Eagle, cover Handles with L Arm.
Be prepared for violent impact

32
Q

Actions if Entangled with Fellow Jumper

A

Stay Calm, do not grab Handles
Only use Positive Communication.
Never say “cut away” unless intent is for other jumper to cutaway.

33
Q

Entanglements Above 2000 FT AGL (higher Jumper has good canopy)

A

Higher Jumper: clear entanglement
Lower Jumper: if cleared, canopy will reinflate in 150-200FT
Lower Jumper: If not cleared, disconnect RSL, Cutaway

34
Q

Entanglements between 2000-1000 FT AGL (higher Jumper has good canopy)

A

Higher Jumper: Positive Communication, listen for instructions from Lower Jumper
Lower Jumper: 2 Options
1: Disconnect RSL, Cutaway
2: Land with higher Jumper, jettison Ruck, PLF

35
Q

Entanglements Below 1000 FT AGL (higher Jumper has good canopy)

A

Higher Jumper: Maintain Lower Jumper

Lower Jumper: Land with higher Jumper, jettison Ruck, PLF

36
Q

Entanglements (neither Jumper has a good canopy)

A

Higher Jumper clear entanglement and has cutaway priority.
If impact with ground is imminent, both jumpers deploy reserve.
If both reserves inflate, cutaway from entanglement to prevent down plane.
