The battle was between Spain against Mexico. It was to win independence.

Spain won and Mexico was under the control of Spain for another 7 years.

A border dispute between the U.S. and Mexico ended up sharing the land.

Criminals, outlaws, etc.
Who was Bernardo de Galvez and what did he do?
He helped the United States win independence from Great Britain by giving supplies and money, he led troops up the coast against Britain and let America use the port of New Orleans.

This was the constitution right after Mexico won independence - it had all new rules
What area did Stephan F. Austin choose for his colony?
He chose an area between the Colorado and Brazos rivers. He chose these areas because they had rich soil.
What happened in 1821?
This was the year Texas/Mexico won independence from Spain.
What did Marques de Rubi recommend to the Spanish king?
He said to abandon all missions except for San Antonio and Goliad and that all settlers move to San Antonio.
Why did Marques de Rubi recommend what he did?
Because the U.S. bought the Louisiana Purchase and Spain no longer shared a border with France.
