He chose an area between the Colorado and Brazos rivers. He chose these areas because they had rich soil.

This was the year Texas/Mexico won independence from Spain.

He said to abandon all missions except for San Antonio and Goliad and that all settlers move to San Antonio.

Because the U.S. bought the Louisiana Purchase and Spain no longer shared a border with France.

He called for Mexican Troops and citizens to fight against Spain.
