Methodology
A systematic plan for gathering and analyzing observations about the world.
Validity
The state of being an acceptable or reasonable answer to the question asked.
Empirical
Focused on measuring data about the natural world.
Quantitative
Numerically measurable
Sampling
The collection of data from a subset, which is used to draw conclusions about the wider set, depending on the total population size or composition.
Positivism
The belief that observations must be scientifically verified and numerically proven to be valid.
Constructivism
Nonexistence of an objective reality.
Subjectivity
The view that meaning is based on personal beliefs and attitudes.
Experimental
Data that comes from controlled observations of individuals phenomena.
Theoretical
General ideas or rules that explain individual phenomena and based on experimental date.
Phenomenon
Something that occurs in the natural world.
Hypothesis
An assumption to be tested against further investigation.
Scientific model
An idea used to represent something that happens in nature.
Secondary Data
Information, not personally collected by the researcher, but used by them in the research. Eg: articles, documents, books, etc.
