What is pilot testing?
This is a useful way of trying out your fieldwork methodology before your main data collection exercise
What is Spearmans rank correlation?
A statistical test that can be applied to two sets of datato test the strength and significance of a correlation
Why sample?
Make your sample large enough to be representative but small enoguh to be manageable
What is systematic sampling?
A ,ethod where the sample is chosen at a regular agreed interval
What is random sampling?
A method where is sample is chosen by a randomly generated list of numbers
What is stratisfied sampling?
A method which involves taking account of subsets in the total population
What is pragmatic sampling?
A method which chooses sampling sites for external fators suchas where the location is unsafe, inaccessible or where the permission has been denied. Makes results less reliable
