16
Q

What are conversion factors?

A

Values that must be multiplied by the reading in LEL and VOC to get the true reading. Built into the multirae if you change measurement gas.

17
Q

What is the wand and how does it effect your readings?

A

Used to assist with metering high and low. Takes one second per foot for gas to reach the meter. Filter on the inlet of the meter itself

25
Q

Toxirae HIGH code?

A

gas exceeds high alarm limit

26
Q

Toxirae LOW code?

A

Gas exceeds low alarm limit

27
Q

Toxirae STEL code

A

Gas exceeds short term exposure limit

28
Q

Toxirae TWA code

A

Gas exceeds time weighted average limit

29
Q

Toxirae CAL code?

A

Calibration failed, or needs calibration

30
Q

How can you find the measurement ranges for each sensor for the toxirae?

A

Meter will tell you the ranges for each sensor during warm up cycle.

31
Q

Toxirae smart cell
5 key points.

A
  1. Cells last about 2 years
  2. Exposure to high heat and moisture can be harmful
  3. Exposure to high concentrations can damage cells
  4. Always keep cells in sensor keeper, or in meter and on the charger.
  5. Saturated cells can take hours to clear
32
Q

How do you change sensors in the toxirae?

A

Turn off to change is the preferred method. Unscrew and replace sensor.

33
Q

Gas ranger batter installation.

A

Side of unit. Opposite orientation from every toy.

34
Q

Gas ranger. What is the correct orientation of the wand, water trap and dust filter, tubing and meter?

A

Wand, dust filter, water trap, tubing, meter

35
Q

How do you switch from %LEL to %gas gas ranger?

A

Using the dial. 10% LEL is equal to .5% gas
20% LEL is equal to 1% gas. %gas is used once 100% LEL is reached to get an accurate reading

36
Q

Gas ranger. How do you clear a “no go” during an auto zero?

A

Press and hold the reset button

37
Q

What mode would you use to pin point the source of a gas leak with the gas ranger?

A

Sniff/track gas. Read out in PPM

38
Q

Gas ranger
5% gas by volume= how many PPM?

A

50,000 PPM

39
Q

Gas ranger alarms at what %LEL and what %gas

A

10% LEL
0.5% gas

40
Q

What will display on the gas ranger if battery is low?

A

Flashes “LO”

41
Q

Gas ranger meters for?

A

Methane, CO and O2

42
Q

Gas ranger displays “LO”

A

Batteries low or installed incorrectly (install flat end first)

43
Q

Gas ranger displays “bloc”

A

Intake of instrument is blocked. Drain wand, clean/change filter, drain or replace water trap

44
Q

Gas ranger does not display “bloc” when probe is manually blocked?

A

Indicates leak between probe tip and pump or pump is dirty. Disconnect probe and tube and block intake. If block still does not appear meter needs repair.

45
Q

Gas ranger displays “nogo” on auto zero

A

Gas or CO is present. Repeat in clean air after detector purge.

Or
The zero of sensor has drifted. Coarse zero in clean air (hold down RESET and switch out of and back into AUTO ZERO)

46
Q

Gas ranger display shows “FAIL”

A

A sensor (methane or oxygen) has failed. Replace sensor(s)

47
Q

Gas ranger cross sensitivities?

A

CO2

48
Q

49
Q

Where is the internal probe on the eberline?

A

Front of the hand held meter. Front is indicated by a small triangle.

50
Q

Eberline external prob connector

A

Also called the pancake. Reads alpha and beta (flip over)

51
Q

Eberline scintillator

A
