A
  • A state function
  • the available energy to do chemical work (Make minerals, change mineral composition ect.)

What is the Gibbs Phase rule?

A

F = C + 2 - phi

F = Degrees of freedom
C = number of components
phi = number of phases

Makes sure we’re not violating the rules of nature

A
