MA vs Appendicitis

Presents a difficult problem in differential diagnosis with acute appendicitis because the history can be very similar.

At times the distinction may be almost impossible.

• localisation of pain and tenderness is not as definite
• rigidity is less of a feature
• temp is higher
• anorexia, nausea and vomiting are also lesser features.

The illness lasts ~5 d followed by a rapid recovery.
