Define a GSL Product

When can they be sold?

A

A medicine that can be sold in both registered Pharmacies and other retail outlets, given that they can ‘close as to exclude the public’

They can be sold without the supervision of a Pharmacist, however the RP must be signed in (when sold within a Pharmacy)

A

POM-V = POM meds that can only be Rx’d by a veterinary surgeon and supplied with a written Rx

POM-VPS = POM meds that can be Rx’d and supplied by a veterinary surgeon, Pharmacist or suitably qualified person. A written Rx is only needed is the supplier is not the Rx’er

NFA-VPS = Meds for non-food animals. A written Rx is not needed

AVM-GSL = An authorised vet med that is available on general sale
