- Distinct from each other but connected in their effects eg. Mental states effect physical and vis versa

Childs safeguarding and promoting welfare feeder into child’s developmental needs, parenting capacity and family and environmental factors to effect the outcome of the child’s welfare.
What is corrosive cortisol?
- fight or flight which cuts of blood to thinking part of brain
What does extended exposure to corrosive cortisol?
- High blood pressure
- Fatigue
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Inhibition of amino acid uptake – bone and muscle
- Stress
- Inhibits insulin shuttling glucose to cells (metabolism)
- Memory loss
- Infertility and misscarriage
- digestive issues
WHats the effect of sleep deprivation?
Lead to higher risk of chronic health problems like high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.
What are some examples of risk assessment tools for mental health?
- PHQ-2 and 9 for depression (developed by Whole et al.)
- HADS and BDI-II (beck) to give a subjective score for depression
What is an acronym for a mental first aid to make an action plan?
ALGEE
Assess - risk of suicide or harm
Listen - non-judgementally
Give reassurance
Encourage appropriate professional help
Encourage self-help and other support strategies
