A

What happens in a MHA assessment - who is involved?

A
  • Evaluation to see whether to detain someone under the MHA
  • AMHP or nearest relative is making the application and organising the admission
  • Decision needs to be recommended by 2 doctors, one of whom needs to be section 12 approved

A
  • Compulsory admission for assessment following MHA assessment
  • Lasts up to 28 days
  • Cannot be renewed - ends in discharge or detention under section 3
