Lithium level of 1.5-2.0
Mental confusion, poor coordination, coarse tremors, ongoing GI distress (N/V/D)
Lithium level 2.0-2.5
Extreme polyuria, tinnitus, blurred vision, ataxia, seizures, severe hypotension, coma, possible death from resp complications
Lithium level greater than 2.5

Side effects of lithium
GI distress, fine hand tremors, polyuria, mild thirst, weight gain, renal toxicity, goiter, hypothyroidism, bradydysrhythmias, hypotension, electrolyte imbalances
Positive Schizophrenia symptoms
hallucinations, delusions, speech alteration, bizarre behavior
Negative Schizophrenia Symptoms
blunt/flat affect, alogia (no thought/speech), avolition (no motivation w/activities), anhedonia, anergia
Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome S/S
Sudden high fever, BP changes, dysrhythmias, muscle rigidity, change in LOC, Coma
Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome Tx
Stop med, ck VS, cooling blanket, antipyretic, increase fluids, muscle relaxer (dantrolene (dantrium), bromocriptimne (parlodel)
Serotonin syndrome
Mental confusion, diff conc, agitation, fever, tremor, hallucinations, anxiety, hyperreflexia, incoordination, diaphoresis
Hypertensive crisis
HA, Nausea, increased HR/Bp
Tyramine foods
aged cheese, pepperoni, salami, avocado, fig, banana, smoked fish, protein, diet supplements. beer, red wine
