Prostate Cancer Screening
A
No routine screening recommended
NHMRC recommend the following:
• For men at average risk
• who have been informed of the benefits and harms
• offer PSA testing every 2yrs from age 50–69
• and offer further investigation if total PSA > 3.0
• DRE is NOT recommended as a routine
Symptomatic men: PSA and DRE

Follow up PSA/abnormal PSA
A
If initial PSA >3, repeat in 1-3 months with total-to-free PSA ratio. Offer prostate biopsy if:
o PSA is >5.5 ng/mL
o PSA is > 3.0 ng/mL & free-to-total PSA is below 25%.
