Menopause definition
Retrospective diagnosis - 12 months from LMP
Climateric definition
The name given to the stage in life when a women gradually loses her normal cyclical activity due to a reduction in the number of primordial follicles
Premature ovarian insuffiency
Refers to the loss of normal function of your ovaries, where menstruation gradually decreases, stops or suddenly becomes irregular before the age of 40
Pre-menopause definition
includes the period begininning with the first clinical, biochemical and endocrinoloical features of the approaching menopause, such as vasomotor symptoms and mentrual irregularity and ends 12 months after the LMP.
Post- menopausal definition
Should be defied from the final menstrual period regardless of whether the menopause was induced or spontaneous
