What is the law of segregation ?
A
One allele for a trait is inherited from each parent to form 2 alleles for a trait. The allele that contains the dominant trait determines the phenotype of the offspring.

What is the Law of Independent assortment?
A
States that the inheritance of one characteristic will have no effect on the inheritance of another. This law applies when genes are NOT LINKED.
