The word “menace” can be used both as a noun and a verb:
As a noun, it refers to something or someone that poses a threat or danger. For example, “The snakes are a menace to farm animals.” It can also describe a person or thing that causes trouble or annoyance, like “He’s a real menace when he gets behind the wheel.”
As a verb, it means to threaten or pose a danger to something or someone. For instance, “The storm menaced the coastal towns.”
