Teach us to number our days, that we may get a heart of wisdom… Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love… Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us… Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children. Psalm 4:7-8

Psalm 4:7-8
My son do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves…
…he disciplines us for our good that we may share his holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Therefore, lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather healed.

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?
…for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.
…Therefore, let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek a city that is to come. (Hebrews 13:5-6, 9, 13-14 ESV)
