Memory Items, Maneuvers & Scan Flows Flashcards
[] CABIN ALTITUDE
1 Don the oxygen masks.
2 Establish crew communications.
3 Check the cabin altitude and rate.
4 If the cabin altitude is uncontrollable:
PASS OXYGEN switchPush to ON and
hold for 1 second
Without delay, descend to the lowest safe altitude or 14,000 feet (10,000 feet if fuel endurance is not critical), whichever is higher.
To descend:
Move the thrust levers to idle
Extend the speedbrakes
If structural integrity is in doubt, limit airspeed and avoid high maneuvering loads
Descend at Vmo/Mmo
Aborted Engine Start L, R
1 FUEL CONTROL switch (affected side)…CUTOFF
Dual Eng Fail/Stall
1 FUEL CONTROL switches (both)…CUTOFF, then RUN
2 RAM AIR TURBINE switch…Push and hold
for 1 second
[] ENG AUTOSTART L, R
1 FUEL CONTROL switch (affected side)…Confirm…CUTOFF
[] ENG LIMIT EXCEED L, R
1 A/T ARM switch (affected side)Confirm. . . . .OFF
2 Thrust lever (affected side)Confirm. . . . .Retard until
ENG LIMIT EXCEED
message blanks or
the thrust lever is at idle
[] ENG SURGE L, R
1 A/T ARM switch (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .OFF
2 Thrust lever (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .Retard until
the ENG SURGE
message blanks or
the thrust lever is at idle
Eng Svr Damage/Sep L, R
1 A/T ARM switch (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .OFF
2 Thrust lever (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .Idle
3 FUEL CONTROL switch (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .CUTOFF
4 Engine fire switch (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .Pull
[] FIRE ENG L, R
1 A/T ARM switch (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .OFF
2 Thrust lever (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .Idle
3 FUEL CONTROL switch (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .CUTOFF
4 Engine fire switch (affected side)…Confirm. . . . .Pull
5 If the FIRE ENG message stays shown:
Engine fire switch (affected side)…Rotate to the stop
and hold for 1 second
If after 30 seconds, the FIRE ENG message stays shown:
Engine fire switch (affected side)…Rotate to the
other stop and hold for 1 second
[] STABILIZER
1 STAB cutout switches (both)…CUTOUT
2 Do not exceed the current airspeed.
Stall Recovery
1. Apply nose down elevator (unload the wing)
2. Roll wings level, apply thrust as needed, retract speedbrakes (select flap 1 on rotation)
3. Check airspeed and adjust thrust as needed. Establish pitch attitude
RTO (You as PF)
1. Close the thrust levers
2. Disengage the autothrottles
3. Apply maximum manual wheel brakes or verify operation of RTO autobrake.
4. Verify the speedbrake lever UP.
5. 60kts call “REVERSE IDLE”
6. Taxi Speed “FORWARD IDLE”
7. Set the parking brake
8.ACAS
9. Ask
- Is the Parking Brake Set?
- Is Reverse Cancelled?
- Whats Your Diagnosis?
10. Agree a checklist for FO to do unmonitored
11. Declare PAN/MAYDAY/Speak to tower/ other aircraft for any signs of flames/smoke
12. Situation Contained = “Passengers and Crew remain seated and await further instructions” Consult QRH RTO Section
13. Not Contained = EVACUATION CHECKLIST
PM RTO
1. Apply reverse thrust up to the maximum amount consistent with conditions ( <60kts Reverse Idle)
2. Call
- “SPEEDBRAKE UP / SPEEDBRAKE NOT UP”
- “REVERSERS NORMAL / NO REVERSER LEFT/RIGHT ENGINE / NO REVERSERS”
3. Call 60kts
4. Reverse Idle / Forward Idle
5. When Parking Brake Set “I Have Control”
6. Rest as PF duties
“PULL UP”, “OBSTACLE PULL UP” or “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP”
Call “PULL UP, GO-AROUND”
Disconnect autopilot
Disconnect autothrottle(s)
Aggressively apply maximum* thrust
Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch attitude of 20°
Verify the speedbrakes are retracted
If terrain remains a threat, continue rotation up to the pitch limit indicator or stick shaker or initial buffet
Do not change gear or flap configuration until terrain separation is assured
CAUTION OBSTACLE
CAUTION TERRAIN
SINK RATE
TERRAIN
DON’T SINK
TOO LOW FLAPS
TOO LOW GEAR
TOO LOW TERRAIN
GLIDESLOPE
BANK ANGLE
Correct the flight path or the airplane configuration. Confirm MOA/MSA.
TCAS TA
Its Amber.
Look for traffic using traffic display as a guide. Call out any conflicting traffic.
