Memory Items, Maneuvers & Scan Flows Flashcards

1
Q

[] CABIN ALTITUDE

A

1 Don the oxygen masks.

2 Establish crew communications.

3 Check the cabin altitude and rate.

4 If the cabin altitude is uncontrollable:

PASS OXYGEN switchPush to ON and

hold for 1 second

Without delay, descend to the lowest safe altitude or 14,000 feet (10,000 feet if fuel endurance is not critical), whichever is higher.

To descend:

Move the thrust levers to idle

Extend the speedbrakes

If structural integrity is in doubt, limit airspeed and avoid high maneuvering loads

Descend at Vmo/Mmo

Q

“PULL UP”, “OBSTACLE PULL UP” or “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP”

A

Call “PULL UP, GO-AROUND”

Disconnect autopilot

Disconnect autothrottle(s)

Aggressively apply maximum* thrust

Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch attitude of 20°

Verify the speedbrakes are retracted

If terrain remains a threat, continue rotation up to the pitch limit indicator or stick shaker or initial buffet

Do not change gear or flap configuration until terrain separation is assured

Q

TCAS RA

A

Its Red.

If maneuvering is required, disengage the autopilot and autothrottle. Smoothly adjust pitch and thrust to satisfy the RA command. Follow the planned lateral flight path unless visual contact with the conflicting traffic requires other action.

17
Q

Upset Recovery Nose High

A

i.e.25 degrees nose up, 10 degrees nose down, 45 degrees, airspeed inappropriate for the conditions

Initially:

  • Disengage autopilot & autothrottle
  • Nose down elevator (trim if required)
  • Reduce thrust
  • Roll to get nose down pitch rate

Then:

  • When approaching the horizon, roll to wings level
  • Check airspeed and adjust thrust
  • Establish pitch attitude.
18
Q

Upset Recovery Nose Low Recovery

A

Disconnect autopilot/ autothrottle

Recover:

  • Recover from stall, if needed
  • Roll in the shortest direction to wings level. If bank angle is more than 90 degrees, unload and roll*

Complete the recovery:

  • Apply nose up elevator
  • Apply nose up trim, if needed*
  • Adjust thrust and drag, if needed.
19
Q

“MONITOR RADAR DISPLAY”

A

Maneuver as required to avoid the windshear

20
Q

“WINDSHEAR AHEAD, WINDSHEAR AHEAD”

A
  • prior to V1, reject takeoff
  • after V1, perform the Windshear Escape Maneuver
21
Q

“GO-AROUND, WINDSHEAR AHEAD”

A

perform Windshear Escape Maneuver or, at pilot’s discretion, perform a normal go-around

22
Q

“WINDSHEAR,WINDSHEAR,WINDSHEAR” MANUAL FLIGHT

A

W/S defined as:

15 knots indicated airspeed, 500 FPM vertical speed, 5 degrees pitch attitude, 1 dot displacement from the glideslope, unusual thrust lever position for a significant period of time

  • Call “WINDSHEAR, GO-AROUND”
  • Disconnect autopilot
  • Push either TO/GA switch
  • Aggressively apply maximum* thrust
  • Disconnect autothrottle(s)
  • Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate toward an initial pitch attitude of 15°
  • Verify the speedbrakes are retracted
  • Follow flight director TO/GA guidance (if available)**
