- Set pitch attitude/thrust:
- Flaps Extended: 10 degrees/80% N1
- Flaps UP: 4 degrees/75% N1

- APU Fire Switch - Confirm - Pull, rotate to stop and hold for 1 second
- APU Switch - OFF

A
FLT DK DOOR lock selector - Rotate to DENY and hold for 1 second

CABIN ALTITUDE WARNING or RAPID DEPRESSURIZATION
A
- Don oxygen masks and set regulators to 100%
- Establish crew communications
- Pressurisation mode selector - MAN (Manual)
- Outflow VALVE switch - Hold in CLOSE until outflow VALVE indication shows fully closed.
- If cabin Altitude is uncontrollable:
- Passenger Signs - ON
- PASS OXYGEN switch - ON
» Conduct the EMERGENCY DESCENT Memory Items

EMERGENCY DESCENT
A
- Announce the emergency descent
- Passenger signs - ON
- Without delay, descend to LSALT or 10,000ft whichever is higher
- ENGINE START switches (Both) - CONT
- Thrust Levers (Both) - Reduce Thrust to Minimum or as needed for anti-ice
- Speed brake - Flight Detent
If structural integrity is in doubt, limit speed to avoid high manoeuvring loads - Set target speed to MMO/VMO

ENGINE FIRE or ENGINE SEVERE DAMAGE or SEPARATION
A
- Autothrottle (if engaged) - Disengage
- Thrust Lever (affected engine) - Confirm - Close
- Engine Start Lever (affected engine) - Confirm - CUTOFF
- Engine Fire Switch (affected engine) - Confirm - Pull
To manually unlock the engine Fire Switch, press the override and pull.
- If the Engine Fire Switch or ENG OVERHEAT is illuminated:
Engine Fire Switch - Rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second. - If after 30 second the Engine Fire Switch or ENG OVERHEAT light stays illuminated:
Engine Fire Switch - Rotate to the other stop and hold for 1 second.

ENGINE LIMIT or SURGE or STALL
A
- Autothrottle (if engaged) - Disengage
- Thrust Lever (affected engine) - Confirm - Retard until engine indications stay within limits or the thrust lever is closed.

ENGINE OVERHEAT
A
- Autothrottle (if engaged) - Disengage
- Thrust Lever (affected engine) - Confirm - Close
- If ENG OVERHEAT light stays illuminated:
» Conduct the ENG FIRE or Engine Severe Damage or Separation Memory Items

LOSS OF THRUST ON BOTH ENGINES
A
- ENGINE START Switches (Both) - FLT
- Engine Start Levers (Both) - CUTOFF
- When EGT decreases:
Engine Start Levers (Both) - IDLE detent - If EGT reaches Red Line or there is no EGT Increase within 30 seconds:
Engine Start Lever (affected engine) - Confirm - CUTOFF, then IDLE detent
If EGT again reaches Red Line or there is no EGT Increase within 30 seconds, repeat as needed.

- Assure correct airplane landing configuration

TAKEOFF CONFIGURATION
A
- Assure correct airplane takeoff configuration

RUNAWAY STABILIZER
A
- Control Column - Hold Firmly
- Autopilot (if engaged) - Disengage
DO NOT renegade the autopilot.
Control the pitch attitude manually with the control column and the main electric trim as needed. - Autothrottle (if engaged) - Disengage
DO NOT reengage the autothrottle. - If runaway stops after autopilot is disengaged - End of procedure.
- If runaway continues:
STAB TRIM CUTOUT switches (Both) - CUTOUT - If runaway continues:
Stabilizer Trim Wheel - Grasp and Hold.
