MEMORY ITEMS Flashcards
CABIN ALTITUDE or RAPID DEPRESSURIZATION
OXYGEN MASKS AND REGULATORS………….ON, 100% (Both pilots)
CABIN ALTITUDE AND RATE……………………. CHECK (PM)
Confirm whether the cabin altitude and rate are steady or increasing gradually
IF cabin altitude is uncontrollable:
PASSENGER OXYGEN SWITCH………………….PUSH AND HOLD FOR 1 SEC (PM)
EMERGENCY DESCENT………………………….. INITIATE (PF)
Call “Emergency Descent” by using the flight interphone
THRUST LEVERS……………………………………CLOSE (PF)
SPEEDBRAKE……………………………………….UP (PF)
IF no structural damage:
TARGET SPEED……………………………………. VMO / MMO (PF)
IF structural damage is suspected:
TARGET SPEED…………………………………… AT OR BELOW CURRENT IAS (PF)
Reduce speed as low as possible and avoid high manoeuvring loads
TRANSPONDER……………………………………. 7700 (PM)
LEVEL OFF ALTITUDE……………………………. (HIGHER) 10000FT / LSALT (PF)
ABORTED ENGINE START:
For one or more of the following:
1 – EGT does not increase by 25 seconds after fuel control switch moved to RUN
2 – No N1 indication by 30 seconds after N2 is stabilised at idle
3 – The EGT quickly nears or exceeds the start limit of 750 degrees
4 – The oil pressure indication is not normal by the time the engine is at idle
FUEL CONTROL SWITCH……………………………………CUT OFF (PF)
IF engine start selector has returned to AUTO:
When N2 decreases to 20% or below:
ENGINE START SELECTOR………………………….………GND (PM)
Motor engine for a minimum of 30 seconds
IF engine start selector is in GND:
Motor engine for a minimum of 30 seconds
DUAL ENGINE FAILURE
ENGINE START SELECTORS….….BOTH FLT PNF
THRUST LEVERS………………..BOTH CLOSE PF
FUEL CONTROL SWITCHES..BOTH CUT OFF
THEN RUN PNF
If engine appears stalled or EGT approaches the maximum EGT limit of the standby engine indicator:
FUEL CONTROL SWITCH(ES) (AFFECTED ENGINE(S))
………………………….CUT OFF THEN RUN PNF
Repeat the above steps as necessary.
ENGINE LIMIT / SURGE / STALL
THRUST LEVER……..RETARD PF
FLIGHT DECK DOOR
AUTO UNLOCK LIGHT FLASHING
FLIGHT DECK DOOR LOCK SELECTOR
………………..ROTATE TO DENY
& HOLD 1 SEC PNF
UNSCHD STAB TRIM:
STABILIZER TRIM CUTOUT SWITCHES………………. BOTH CUTOUT (PM)
Hold the control column firmly, and disengage the autopilot
ENGINE FIRE, ENGINE SEVERE DAMAGE, ENGINE SEPARATION:
This checklist is used for:
- Fire is detected in the affected engine
- Airframe vibrations with abnormal engine indication
- The engine has separated
AUTOTHROTTLE ARM SWITCH………………….OFF (PF)
THRUST LEVER……………………………………. CLOSE (PF)
FUEL CONTROL SWITCH………………………… CUT OFF (PM)
Confirm that the ENG VALVE and SPAR VALVE lights for affected engine are extinguished
following a brief illumination
ENGINE FIRE SWITCH……………………………..PULL (PM)
IF fire warning light remains illuminated:
ENGINE FIRE SWITCH……………………………..ROTATE AND HOLD (PM)
Rotate the fire switch in any direction and hold for at least one second until the ENG BTL DISCH
light illuminates
IF after 30 seconds the fire warning remains illuminated:
ENGINE FIRE SWITCH……………………………..ROTATE TO REMAINING BOTTLE
AND HOLD (PM)
Rotate the fire switch in the other direction and hold for at least one second until the ENG BTL
DISCH light illuminates
AIRSPEED / MACH UNRELIABLE:
One or more of the following may be evidence of unreliable airspeed:
- Speed / altitude info is not consistent with pitch attitude and thrust setting
- SPD (on ADI) / MACH (on ASI) / AS (on ASI) failure flags displayed
- Fluctuating airspeed displays
- Variation between Captain and F/O airspeed displays
- Amber line through one or more FMA’s
- Overspeed indication (EICAS warning message)
- Radome damage or loss
- Simultaneous overspeed and stall warnings
- Display of one or more of the following EICAS messages:
- AILERON LOCKOUT L AUX PITOT CAPT PITOT
- ALT DISAGREE (200ft) R AUX PITOT F/O PITOT
- IAS DISAGREE (5kts) PROBE HEAT OVERSPEED
- RUDDER RATIO
PITCH ATTITUDE AND THRUST…………………………………..CHECK (both Pilots)
IF pitch attitude OR thrust is not normal for phase of flight:
AUTOPILOT…………………………………………………………. DISENGAGE (PF)
AUTOTHROTTLE……………………………………………………DISCONNECT (PF)
FLIGHT DIRECTORS………………………………………………. OFF (PLT)
ATTITUDE AND THRUST………………………………………….ADJUST (PF)
Establish normal pitch attitude and thrust setting for phase of flight
ENGINE TAILPIPE FIRE:
An engine tailpipe fire is reported WITH NO FIRE WARNING. The remaining fuel in the
combustion chamber burns temporarily, and the fire can be extinguished by motoring
FUEL CONTROL SWITCH…………………………CUTOFF (PF)
FLIGHT DECK DOOR:
FLIGHT DECK DOOR LOCK SELECTOR………. ROTATE TO DENY, HOLD 1 SEC (PM)
