(Affected Engine) - Engine start Lever ..…. “CONFIRM” ……. CUTOFF
(Affected Engine) - Engine Fire Switch .…. “CONFIRM” ……… PULL
(Affected Engine) - IF the engine fire switch or ENG OVERHEAT light is illuminated:
Engine Fire Switch ……. ROTATE TO THE STOP
(Affected Engine) AND HOLD 1 SECOND
ENGINE LIMIT OR SURGE OR STALL
Condition: One or more of these have occurred
- Engine Indicators are Abnormal
- Engine Indicators are rapidly approaching or exceeding limits
- Abnormal engine noises are heard, possibly with aircraft vibration
- No response to thrust lever movement or the response is abnormal
- Flames in the engine inlet or exhaust are reported
- Autothrottle ( If engaged) ………… DISENGAGE
- Thrust Lever ….“CONFIRM”…. Retard until engine
(Affected Engine) indications stay within limits or the thrust lever is closed
LOSS OF THRUST BOTH ENGINES
Condition: Both of these have occurred
- Both engines have loss of thrust
- Both ENG FAIL alert show.
- Engine start switches (BOTH) ………………. FLT
- Engine start levers (BOTH) …………………. CUTOFF
- WHEN EGT decreases:
Engine start levers (BOTH) ……… IDLE DETENT - IF EGT reaches a redline or there is no increase in EGT in 30 seconds:
Engine start Lever …. “CONFIRM” ……. CUTOFF - If EGT again reaches a redline or there is no increase in EGT in 30 seconds, repeat as needed.
ENGINE TAILPIPE FIRE
Condition: An engine tailpipe fire occurs on the ground with no engine fire warning
1. Engine start Lever …………………………… CUTOFF (Affected Engine)
2. Advise the Cabin
3. Choose one:
Bleed air is available:
Go to step 4
Bleed air NOT available
Advise ATC
RUNAWAY STABILIZER
Condition: Uncommanded Stabilizer trim movement occurs continuously or in a manner not appropriate for flight conditions.
1. Control Column………………… HOLD FIRMLY
2. Autopilot (If engaged)…………. DISENGAGE
3. Autothrottle (If engaged)……… DISENGAGE
4. Control Column and thrust levers……………….CONTROL AIRPLANE PITCH
ATTITUDE AND AIRSPEED
5. Main Electric
Stabilizer Trim………………. REDUCE CONTROL
COLUMN FORCES
6. IF the runaway stops after the autopilot is disengaged:
Do NOT reengage autopilot or autothrottle
7. IF the runaway continues after the autopilot is disengaged:
STAB TRIM cutout
Switches (BOTH)………………………CUTOUT
IF the runaway continues:
Stabilizer
Trim wheel………………… GRASP AND HOLD
CABIN ALTITUDE WARNING
OR
RAPID DEPRESSURIZATION
Condition: One or more of these occur:
- A cabin altitude exceedance
- In flight, the intermittent cabin altitude/configuration warning horn sounds or CABIN ALTITUDE light illuminates.
-
1. DON oxygen mask set regulators to 100%
2. Establish crew communication
3. Pressurization mode selector……….. MAN
4. Outflow Valve switch..HOLD in CLOSE Until the outflow VALVE
indication shows fully Closed
5. IF Cabin altitude is UNCONTROLLABLE
Passenger signs………………… ON
PASS OXYGEN switch …………………. ON
Go to the emergency Descent checklist on page 0.1
EMERGENCY DESCENT
Condition: One or more of these occur:
- Cabin Altitude cannot be controlled
- A rapid descent is needed
1. Announce the emergency descent. Pilot Flying will advise the cabin crew, on the PA system, of impending rapid descent. The pilot monitoring will advice ATC and obtain the area altimeter setting.
“ ATTENTION CABIN CREW! EMERGENCY DESCENT”
2. Passenger signs……………………………….. ON
3. WITHOUT DELAY, descend to the lowest safe altitude of 10000ft, whichever is higher
4. ENGINE START switched (both)…………. CONT
5. Thrust levers (both)…………… Reduce thrust to
Minimum or as needed for anti-ice
6. Speedbrake……………………. FLIGHT DETENT
7. Set target speed to Mmo/Vmo. 0.82 340kts
If structural integrity is in doubt, limit speed as much as possible and avoid high manoeuvring loads
WARNING HORN(INTERMITTENT)
OR
WARNING LIGHT-CABIN ALTITUDE
OR TAKEOFF CONFIGURATION
Condition: One or more of these occur:
- In flight, at an airplane flight altitude above 10000ft MSL, the intermittent cabin altitude/configuration warning horn sounds or CABIN ALTITUDE light illuminates.
