- Don oxygen masks

- Check cabin alitude and rate
If cabin uncontrollable:
- 10,000 ft or lowest safe altitude
- FLCH
- Thrust idle
- Speedbrakes
- Descend at VMO/MMO
Aborted Engine Start L,R
FUEL CONTROL switch - CUTOFF
No confirmation needed.
Dual Engine Fail / Stall
- FUEL CONTROL switches - CUTOFF then RUN
- RAM AIR TURBINE switch - Push & hold for 1 sec
ENG AUTOSTART L,R
“CONFIRM L/R FUEL CONTROL switch - CUTOFF”
ENG LIMIT EXCEED L,R
- A/T ARM switch - confirm - OFF
- Thrust lever - confirm - retard
Retard until the message blanks, and down to idle if necessary
ENG SURGE L,R
- A/T ARM switch - confirm - OFF
- Thrust lever - confirm - retard
Retard until the message blanks, and down to idle if necessary
ENG Severe Damage
- A/T ARM switch - confirm - OFF
- Thrust lever - confirm - Idle
- FUEL CONTROL switch - confirm - CUTOFF
- Engine fire switch - confirm - Pull
Lithium Battery smoke or fire
- Transfer control to the pilot the further away from the fire
- PA - “BACK UP TO THE FLIGHT DECK, BACK UP TO THE FLIGHT DECK”
Smoke, Fire, or Fumes
- Oxygen masks - ON 100%
- Crew communications - Establish
STABILIZER
- STAB cutout switches - both - CUTOUT
- Do not exceed current airspeed
AIRSPEED UNRELIABLE
- Autopilot - OFF
- A/T - OFF
- F/D - OFF
- Flaps extended - set 10deg + 85% N1
- Flaps up - set 4deg + 70% N1
Oceanic Diversion - All Engine
- Drill / Critical checklists
- MAYDAY
- Clearance
If no clearance:
- OCA 30deg L or R up to 5Nm then +/- 500ft
- China 30deg R up to 5Nm then +/- 500ft
- Russia 30deg R up to 16.2Nm then +/- 500ft
Oceanic Diversion - Engine Out
- Drill / Critical checklists
- Declare MAYDAY
- Proceed per clearance if possible
If no clearance:
- OCA 30deg L or R up to 5Nm then +/- 500ft
- China 30deg R up to 5Nm then +/- 500ft
- Russia 30deg R up to 16.2Nm then +/- 500ft
Minimize descent until established offset
Once offset descend to FL290 +/- 500ft
Nose High recovery
RECOGNIZE AND CONFIRM
- A/P OFF
- A/T OFF
- Nose down elevator + trim
- Reduce thrust
- Roll to obtain a down pitch rate
- Wings level
- Adjust thrust and attitude
Nose Low recovery
RECOGNIZE AND CONFIRM
- A/P OFF
- A/T OFF
- Recover from stall
- Wings level
- Nose up elevator + trim
- Adjust thrust
GPWS Warning
- Call “FIREWALL”
- A/P OFF
- A/T OFF
- Max thrust
- Wings level + pitch up 20deg
- Speedbrakes UP
- If terrain still a threat pitch up to PLI/stick shaker
- Maintain config until clear
- When clear decrease pitch and accelerate
Windshear Escape
- Call “WINDSHEAR TOGA”
- A/P OFF
- TOGA
- Max thrust
- A/T OFF
- Wings level + pitch up 15deg
- Speedbrakes retracted
- Follow guidance
Do not change configuration until windshear is terminated
On automation, press TOGA and monitor. Verify TOGA annunciated
Approach to Stall recovery
- Call “STALL”
- Smooth nose down elevator
- Thrust reduction may be necessary at high power settings
- Roll wings level
- Increase thrust smoothly
- Compensate thrust asymmetry on single engine
- Speedbrakes UP
- Maintain configuration
- If in clean configuration at liftoff call “FLAP 1”
- Return to flight path and desired attitude
- Re-engage automation
EO Cruise Driftdown
- Request EO on FMC ACT CRZ
- Ensure VNAV and set MCP
- “Execute” & verify CONT
- Turn if required
- “CHECKLIST ENGINE FAILURE”
TCAS RA
- A/P OFF
- A/T OFF
- Adjust pitch & thrust for the command
TCAS TA
Look for traffic
Reduce the range
Call out any conflicting traffic
If traffic sighted, maneuver IF NEEDED
TCAS RA Landing config
- A/P OFF
- A/T OFF
- Max thrust + “FLAPS 20”
- Adjust pitch for the command
- After positive rate, call “GEAR UP”
