Memory Items Flashcards
Cabin Altitude Warning
-OR
Rapid Depressurization
1-6.2
- Don oxygen masks and set regulators to 100%
- Establish crew communications
- Pressurization mode selector -
~ MAN - Outflow valve switch -
~ Hold in CLOSE until outflow VALVE indicates fully closed - If cabin altitude is uncontrollable:
5.1 Passenger signs ~ ON
5.2 PASS OXYGEN switch ~ ON
5.3»_space;Go to the Emergency Decent checklist on page 0.1 - If cabin altitude is CONTROLLABLE:
6.1 Continue manual operation to maintain correct cabin altitude
6.2 When the cabin altitude is at or below 10,000 feet:
~ Oxygen masks may be removed
Emergency Descent
1-6, 7.0-7.2
- Advise Flight Attendants and ATC of the emergency decent
- Passenger signs ~ ON
- Without delay, descend to the lowest safe altitude or 10,000 feet, whichever is higher
- ENGINE START switches (both) ~ CONT
- Thrust levers (both) ~ Reduce thrust to minimum or as needed for anti-ice
- Speed brake ~ FLIGHT DETENT
- Set target speed to MMO/VMO
7.1 !!! If structure integrity is in doubt, limit speed as much as possible and avoid high maneuvering loads
7.2 !!! (-700) When gross weight is greater than 143,000 pounds, speed brake will autostow to the 50% FLIGHT DETENT if airspeed exceeds 320 KTS. Do no override autostow function unless airspeed is less than 320 KTS.
Aborted Engine Start
1
- Engine start lever (affected engine) ~ CUTOFF
Loss Of Thrust On Both Engines
1-3, 4.0-4.2, NOTE
- Engine start switches (both) ~ FLT
- Engine start levers (both) ~ CUTOFF
- When EGT decreases:
Engine start levers (both) ~ IDLE Detent - IF EGT reaches a redline or there is no increase in EGT within 30 seconds:
4.1 Engine start lever (affected engine) ~Confirm~ CUTOFF, then IDLE detent
4.2 IF EGT again reaches a redline or there is no increase in EGT within 30 seconds, repeat as needed
NOTE: If the aircraft reverts to standby power, there are no MMO/VMO Protections
APU Fire
2
- APU fire switch ~ Confirm ~ Pull, rotate to the stop, and hold for 1 second
- APU switch ~ OFF
Engine Fire / Engine Severe Damage or Separation
5
- Autothrottle (if engaged)
~ Disengage - Thrust lever (affected engine) ~ Confirm - CLOSE
- Engine start lever (affected engine) ~ Confirm ~ CUTOFF
- Engine fire switch (Affected engine)
~ Confirm ~ Pull
(To manually unlock the engine flight switch, press the override and pull) - If the engine fire switch or ENG OVERHEAT light is illuminated:
Engine fire switch (affected engine) ~ Rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second
Engine Overheat
3
- Autothrottle (if engaged) ~ Disengage
- Thrust lever (affected engine) ~ Confirm ~ Close
- If the ENG OVERHEAT light stays illuminated:
~»_space;Go to the ENGINE FIRE / Engine Severe Damage or Separation checklist on page 8.2
Engine Limit or Surge or Stall
2
- Auto Throttle (if engaged)
~ Disengage - Thrust Lever (affected engine)
~ Retard until engine indications stay within limits or the thrust lever is closed.
Runaway Stabilizer
1-4, 5.0-5.1, 6-7
- Control Column
~ Hold firmly - Autopilot (if engaged)
~ Disengage
(Do NOT re-engage the autopilot)
(Control the airplane pitch manually with control column and main electric trim as needed) - Autothrottle (if engaged)
~ Disengage
(Do NOT re-engage the Autothrottle) - If the runaway stops after the autopilot is disengaged:
~ Checklist complete - If the runaway continues after the autopilot is disengaged:
~ STAB TRIM CUTOFF stitches (both) CUTOFF
5.1 If the runaway continues:
Stabilizer trim wheel
~ Grasp and hold - Stabilizer trim
~ Trim Manually - Anticipate trim requirements
Airspeed Unreliable
1-3, 4.0-4.2
- Autopilot (if engaged)
~ Disengage - Autothrottle (if engaged)
~ Disengage - F/D switches (both) ~ OFF
4.0 Set the following gear up pitch attitude and thrust:
4.1 Flaps Extended
~ 10 degrees and 80% N1
4.2 Flaps Up
~ 4 degrees and 75% N1
Landing Configuration
1
- Ensure correct airplane landing configuration
Takeoff Configuration
- Ensure correct airplane takeoff configuration
Warning Horn (Intermittent) or Warning Light - Cabin Altitude OR Takeoff Configuration
1.0-1.4, 2.0-2.1
1.0 If the intermittent warning horn sounds or a CABIN ALTITUDE light illuminates IN FLIGHT at an airplane flight altitude above 10,000 feet MSL:
1.1 Don the oxygen masks and set the regulators to 100%
1.2 Establish crew communications
1.3 Go to the CABIN ALTITUDE WARNING or Rapid Depressurization checklist on page 2.1
1.4 Checklist complete.
2.0 If the intermittent warning horn sounds or a TAKEOFF CONFIG light illuminates ON THE GROUND when advancing the thrust levers to takeoff thrust:
2.1 Ensure correct airplane takeoff configuration
