Engine Failure During Takeoff BELOW V1 Speed
- Wheel Brakes - APPLY
- Thurst Levers - IDLE
- Spoilers - EXT
Engine Failure During Takeoff ABOVE V1 Speed
- Rudder and Ailerons - AS REQUIRED FOR DIRECTIONAL CONTROL
- Accelerate to Vr; Keep nose wheel on the runway
- Rotate at Vr; Climb at V2
- Positive Rate of Climb Established - GEAR UP
- Clear of Obstacles - V2 + 20, FLAPS UP
Engine Failure during approach
- Control Wheel Master (MSW) - DEPRESS & RELEASE
- Thrust Lever (operative eng) - INCREASE AS REQ’D
- Flaps - 20 degrees MAX
- Airspeed - 1.3 Vs (Flaps 20) Min
Engine Fire - SHUTDOWN
- Thrust Lever - IDLE (unless critical thrust situation exists)
If fire continues more than 15 seconds or there are other indications of fire:
a. Thrust Lever - CUTOFF b. ENG FIRE PULL Handle - PULL c. ENG EXT AREMED Light - DEPRESS ONE
Immediate Engine Airstart
An immediate airstart ay be attempted before engine decelerates below 25% N2,
Affected Engine:
- Thrust Lever - IDLE
- IGNITION - ON
Cabin Altitude Warning horn, Cabin Altitude Exceeds 10,000 FT or CABIN ALT HI Light (if Applicable)
(EMERGENCY DESCENT)
- Crew Oxygen Masks - DON & SELECTE 100% OXYGEN
- Thrust Levers - IDLE
- Autopilot - DISENGAGE
- SPOILER - EXT
- Descent at MMO/VMO, but not below minimum safe altitude
- PASSENGER OXYGEN - DEPLOY
Cabin Fire Light or Cabin/Cockpit Fire, Smoke or Fumes
- Crew Oxygen Masks - DON, SELECT 100% OXYGEN
- Smoke Goggles - DON
- EMER DEPRESS - LIFT GUARD & DEPRESS
- Pilot & Copilot NORM MIX/OXY MIC Switches - OXY MIC
Overspeed Recovery - Overspeed Horn Sounds
- Thrust Levers - IDLE
- Autopilot - DISENGAGE
- Identify aircraft pitch & roll attitude
- Wings - LEVEL
- Elevator & Pitch Trim - NOSE UP, AS REQUIRED
If Mach or airspeed is severe, or if pitch and/or roll attitude is extreme or unknown; - Landing Gear - DN (DO NOT RETRACT)
Pitch Axis Malfunction
- Control Wheel Master (MSW) - DEPRESS AND HOLD
- Attitude Control - AS REQUIRED
- Thrust Levers - AS REQUIRED
- PITCH TRIM (pedestal) - OFF
Roll or Yaw Axis Malfunction
- Control Wheel Master (MSW) - DEPRESS AND HOLD
- Attitude Control - AS REQUIRED
If control force continues: - Airspeed - REDUCE
Emergency Braking
- EMER BRAKE Handle - PULL OUT OF RECESS
2. EMER BRAKE Handle - PUSH DOWNWARD
Emergency Evacuation
- Stop the aircraft
- PARKING BRAKE - SET
- Thrust Levers - CUTOFF
- EMER DEPRESS - LIFT GUARD & DEPRESS
- APU - Auxiliary Power Unit
a. STOP - DEPRESS
b. MASTER - DEPERSS - Notify Controlling Agency
If an engine fire is suspected:
a. Applicable ENG FIRE PULL Handle - PULL
b. either ENG EXT ARMED Light - DEPRESS
c. Other ENG FIRE PULL Handle - PULL
d. BATTERY 1 & 2 - OFF
e. EMER BAT 1 & 2 (if installed) - OFF
f. Evacuate the aircraft
If an engine fire is NOT suspected:
a. Both ENG FIRE PULL Handles - PULL
b. BATTERY 1 & 2 - OFF
d. EMER BAT 1 & 2 (if installed) - OFF
f. Evacuate the Aircraft
Stall Warning Activates
- Lower pitch attitude to reduce angle of attack
- Thrust Levers - TAKEOFF POWER
- Wings - LEVEL
- Accelerate out of the stall condition
Aborted Takeoff
- Wheel Brakes - APPLY
- Thrust Levers - IDLE
- Spoilers - EXT
Inadvertent stow of thrust reverser after a crew-commanded deployment
- Maintain control with rudder, aileron, nose-wheel steering, and brakes
- Both Thrust Reverser Levers - STOW
