How is memory related to ADHD?
There are three main memories:
1.long-term memory.
2.short-term memory.
3.working memory.
Long-term memory is an archive of all your important experiences. Short term memory is what you use to recall 10 objects that I told you. Working memory is used to plan organize and initiate action on a goal.
Theory of the brain that controls the memory is called hippocampus. This area has been found to be smaller for people with ADHD. 80 HD nurse specifically are impacted by their ability to remember facts to put a work order in other words are not so great, working memory, but there are many Things one can do to strengthen the work on memory.
1.Acceptance that you were having difficulty remembering some thing by saying that aloud helps in accepting that you might have to come up with creative ideas to register and recollect the information.
2. Outline what do you want to remember or any important tasks in which the order of activities matter
3.chunk out the tasks as this makes it easier to keep on track.
4.slow down or use Slomo brain when placing important items during transition. For example, moving from car to home home to car.
5. Be calm as being calm helps you to remember facts. Anxiety and does not assist with registering or recollection.
6. See yourself as somebody. who remembers and recollects things that they learn remember to use positive reinforcement to remind yourself of this ability.
