Kappa Delta Shamrock events support Prevent Child Abuse America, which was founded by a Kappa Delta.
“Our chapter gives its local Shamrock monies we raise to the organization called Orangewood Pals, which works with children that are taken out of their homes due to abuse or unsafe circumstances. They offer a foster home as a temporary place of care while their at home situation gets better.”

Kappa Delta began supporting Girl Scouts of the USA in 1998.
Our chapter has been apart of their troop meetings, have participated and volunteered at their mall madness, and have hosted International Girls Days events here on campus

Our meeting structure allows chapters to incorporate certain educational and PACE topics into their weekly meetings. What are the four different types of meetings? What are the educational and PACE topics that must be covered at these meetings?

A

There are four different types of meetings:
Formal
Informal followed by an educational member education workshop
Informal followed by a PACE member education workshop Informal followed by a Chapter Select event

The six required educational member education workshops must cover the topics of academic excellence (one in fall, one in spring), community service, KD Ritual/heritage, risk management and leadership.

The four PACE member education workshops should reflect the meaning of each letter in PACE

A

A designated server who is 21 years of age or older, not a member of Kappa Delta and who does not consume alcohol before or during the event.

A

Attend all chapter meetings, ritualistic services, recruitment activities and other required functions.
Meet all financial obligations by the deadline set in the chapter bylaws.
Perform chapter officer responsibilities. Maintain the scholastic average required by the chapter bylaws.

What is inactive member status?

A

Inactive member status (IMS) can be granted by the chapter council and CAB upon application by the member by weighing the needs of the member against the financial well-being of the chapter. It is not to be used for members who “are really busy” or a way to excuse the obligations of membership as outlined in the Membership Expectations Form. A member may be granted IMS due to poor health, school incurred responsibilities (such as internships, student teaching and varsity athletic participation), or exceptional family obligations. A member must be on good standing in all areas to apply. IMS applications may be approved for one term at a time or part of a term. National fees must be paid and she may not attend chapter activities except by invitation of the chapter. She must pay for any chapter activity attended.

What is emergency financial member status?

A

Emergency financial member status (EFMS) can be granted by the chapter council and CAB upon application by the member by weighing the needs of the member against the financial well- being of the chapter. In this case, the chapter and the member come to an agreement about reduced financial obligations and reduced privileges as a chapter member. A member must be on good standing in all areas to apply. EFMS applications may be approved for up to one term at a time. If a member needs it for more than one term, she must reapply.

When wearing the Kappa Delta badge, what guidelines must be followed?

A

The wearer (initiated members only) must be dressed in pin attire. The badge itself is to be worn straight up and down over the heart and above all other pins.

Sarah Hall, She’s the president of CAB, meaning she oversees and conducts all meetings and is the main point of contact between CAB and the chapter as a whole. Like the chapter president, she is the representative of CAB to all outside organizations like school, nationals, or legal authorities if necessary.
