what is meiosis
A
when a cell divides into 46 chromosomes and then divides further to 23 chromosomes and they join together

what is the process of meiosis
A
- the DNA is copied
- the cell splits into two identical cells
- both cells split again to produce 4 cells
- four genetically unique cells are made.

what cells are produced in meiosis
A
daughter cells (sex cells)

why is meiosis important for sexual reproduction
A
you wouldn’t be able to reproduce without meiosis. the 23 chromosomes wouldn’t exist as the cells wouldn’t divide and pair up.
