A

A

The romans were very powerful. They were rulers of many countries and built them up. They invented the 12-month calendar that we use today (Romulus Augustus and Julius Caesar), and the Roman numerals that are used (XV=15). The Roman architecture is used in the present (arches).

A

A

By the end of the Middle Ages, professional armies were formed that were made up of peasants trained to bring down a mounted knight. Also, when guns were introduced, the armour became too weak to hold up.

  • Buildings, roads, and aqueducts were destroyed or abandoned.
  • There was more violence.
  • People migrated and caused more conflict.
  • Less people could speak or read Latin, so the Roman works of literature was lost.
