the church resisted it, but the church accepted it after the black death. hippocrates thought the planets and starts thought it would help.
what was the fout humours theory
unbalanced humours cause desease - blood, phlegm, black bile, yellow bile - based on hippocrates and galen - trained doctors based on study not experiments - there writings where hugely detailed so hard to challange
four humours treatment
purging - emetics(vomit pills), laxatives
bloodletting( veins, leaches)
opposites theory - e.g phlegm is a cold and wet humour patients would be given a hot chilly
