Why Study Medieval Church history?
Protestant forefathers continually qoute Mid evil theologian/ reference them.
Luther, Calvin were living in a Medieval world prior to the reformation. They are ministering in a late Medieval context.
In order to understand the reformation we must understand the medieval period.
Not beginning a new church but desire to reform it.
They were concerned about areas such as the Trinity, Doctrine of Christ, the atonement, Lord’s supper (1800’s by a monk), doctrine of salvation in the late Medieval ages, Doctrine of Scripture- Wicliffe, Huss.
Build on previous work and previouos errors.
