Restart post-operatively
Aspirin - time to stop pre-operatively?

clopidogrel - time to stop pre-operatively?

dipyridamole - time to stop pre-operatively?

Aspirin/clopidogrel/dipyramdole - consideration pre-operatively?
If patient has high risk indication (eg. cardiac stent) - talk with cardiology and surgeon
Insulin - time to stop pre-operatively?
Avoid morning dose
Insulin prescribing around surgery?
Prescribe a variable rate insulin infusion with surgical fluid from midnight the night before (unless minor surgery)
Oral hypoglycaemic - time to stop pre-operatively?
Avoid on day of operation
metformin post-operatively?
Avoid for 2 days due to risk of lactic acidosis
Diuretics/ACEi - time to stop pre-operatively?
Avoid on day of operation
