Cyclosporine is a medication given to patient who has organ transplant. This medication can prevent transplant rejection. However, it comes with many side effects. Nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity (tremor), gingival hyperplasia, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, gout, hirsutism. An increase of BUN and creatinine signaling decreased kidney function. It is a sign of nephrotoxicity. Swollen and painful feet may indicate increase uricemia (gout). It may need intervention and medication (allopurinol) to lower uric acid, however, it is not priority. Excessive hair growth which indicate hirsutism. This does not require immediate action.
Cyclosporine may cause increase blood pressure, cholesterol. A BP of 135/85 may need intervention after nephrotoxicity has taken care of.
