A

The film or image of the blood vessels obtained through angiography
The image is assessing their lumen

Q

Arthrogram definition

A

An image or study of a joint after injection of contrast material into the joint. Injection of the contrast material better allows for visualisation of soft tissues around and within the joint (like tendons, cartilage and ligaments)

Q

Computed tomography

A

CT is a method of producing a three-dimensional image of an internal body structure by computerised combination of 2D cross-sectional x-ray images

Q

Endoscopy definition

A

An examination of the inside of the body using a lighted, flexible instrument called a endoscope. Although endoscopy can include examination of other organs, the most common endoscopic procedures evaluate oesophagus, stomach and portions of intestine

Q

Fluoroscopy

A

An imaging technique that uses X-rays to obtain real-time moving images of the interior of an object. In its simplest form a fluoroscope consists of an X-ray source and a fluorescent screen, between which a patient is placed

Q

MRI

A

A magnetic resonance imaging MRI scan uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within the body

Q

Myelogram

A

An X-ray imaging study that includes the injection of a contrast dye into the spinal canal to better view and assess the nerve roots, spinal cord and other soft tissues

Q

Ultrasonography

A

Both for diagnosis and for treatment (therapeutics). It can image structures such as tendons, muscles, joints, blood vessels and internal organs
