What is Thrombocytopenia?
Proneness to bleeding due to platelet issues
What tests are ordered for Cardiac issues?
Troponin, EKG, CBC, CXR and BMP.
What is a D-Dimer test used for?
To test for blood clot potential, but does not locate.
What do Serum Ketonins indicate at high levels?
DKA (Diabetic Kedoacidosis)
What does positive HCG indicate?
Pregnancy
What is Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) used to indicate?
Subarrachnoid Hemmorage or Meningitis.
What does Paroxysmal stand for?
Sporadic, Transient, Occasional, Brief
What is the definition of Transient?
Resolving spontaneously after onset.
What is FHx stand for?
Family History
What is a review of systems (ROS)?
A part of the medical chart that states what symptoms the patient has or does not have. The systems are grouped by body systems.
What does SHx stand for?
Social History, AKA a part of the chart that addresses substance use, occupation, diet, exercise, living situation, martial status, etc.
What do Sx and Tx stand for?
Sx = Symptoms, Tx = Treatment
What does COPD stand for?
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
What does CRF stand for?
Chronic Renal Failure
What does GERD stand for?
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
What does CAD stand for?
Coronary Artery Disease
What does HLD stand for?
Hyperlipidemia
