Benadryl - Adult, 50mg. Pediatric, 2mg/kg
Famotidine - Adult, 20mg. Pediatric, 0.5 mg/kg
What ALS medications can be given for isolated hives/urticaria?
Dexamethasone OR Methylprednisolone
What level provider can give repeat doses of epi 1:1000?
EMT and above
What does BRUE stand for and what is it?
Brief Resolved Unexplained Event
An infant < 1 year of age with an episode frightening to the observer characterized by cyanosis or pale complexion;
absent, decreased, or irregular breathing; marked change in muscle tone (hyper- or hypotonia); or altered responsiveness
but resolved.
When is Glucagon used?
Symptomatic hypoglycemia where pt cannot maintain airway and IV access cannot be established
What is the dose for D10/D5 IV?
No specific dose, titrated to effect
How is hyperglycemia treated?
IV fluids
What is hyperkalemia?
Higher than normal potassium
What monitoring device will be used to look for signs of hyperkalemia?
12-lead EKG
What BLS medication can be given for hyperkalemia and what is the dose?
Albuterol - 10mg (in 12mL), adult and peds
What are the adult criteria for sepsis?
2 of the following:
RR greater than or equal to 22
AMS
SBP less than 100
MSI > 1.3
EtCO2 < 25 or lactate > 2mmol/L
