adjective- described something that is dominant in political or social context
e.g. the police are always right
what are unconscious actions?
hegemony sustained by our actions determine the value of the product. e.g. we shot at malls not shops, keeping the rich rich.
what are myths?
dominant ideologies make the use of the colesmic nature of sign, to create myths, inn the form of hegemonic views/
what is confirmation bias?
we predict ideas that already match our expectations and preferences
cognitive disociance
we are more likely to avoid ideas that conflict with what we already understand
horizontal integration
when a conglomerate acquires media companies of the same type of media (production)
