Coaxial Cable
has a data core in the center of the cable it the shielded like cable to protect from Electromagnetic interference (EMI) there’s 2 kinds RG6 the thicker one and RG59 the thinner one.
Twisted Pair Cable
Most popular Physical LAN media type. has 8 wires inside of it.
What is UTP and STP
Unshielded Twisted pair and Shielded Twisted pair.
RJ45
Most commonly used in networks and has 8 pins on the connector. Used for most ethernet applications.
RJ11
a 6 pin connector that is a standard phone line uses 2or 4 pins.
DB9 or 25
used for RS232 cables aka serial cables. Used for external modems.
Straight through patch cable (T568B)
Both ends of the cable have matching pin outs.

Crossover Cable (T568A)
Send and receive pins of the cable are swapped in the end pin outs.
