David Gauntlett - Construction of Identity
Gauntlett suggests that representation can be personally constructed Gauntlett believes that while everyone is an individual,
people tend to exist within larger groups who are similar to them.

eg women in bikinis {can serve to objectify women}

men can have feminine trait and women can have masculine traits

women can be shown to be sexualised at some points but also empowered and in control

defines masculinity as the macho {aggressive} personality.
