What is meconium aspiration?
A
- The greater the gestation age the more likely meconium will be passed before birth
- Meconium is passed before birth
- hypoxia during delivery may cause thick meconium to be inhaled

A
- a lung irritant
- mechanical obstruction
- increased incidence of pneumothorax
